About the position

The Advanced Field Service Engineer role at Honeywell focuses on the maintenance, configuration, programming, installation, and upgrades of complex Honeywell control systems. This position involves direct customer interaction, ensuring effective communication regarding technical issues, and providing support for Honeywell's control systems. The engineer will also be responsible for migrating legacy systems to new technologies and assisting in training less experienced engineers.

Responsibilities

  • Periodic communication with customers regarding technical and administrative issues
  • Provide customer support on Honeywell Control Systems and serve as a customer contact for service-related issues/enquiries
  • Configure, maintain and solve Honeywell hardware and software issues including: Experion PKS, other DCS hardware/software such as LCN, TPS
  • Upgrade Experion software from one software release to another on live control systems without causing interruptions
  • Migrate Legacy Honeywell control systems to Honeywell's new technology offering
  • Understand customer key processes and economic drivers and translate those into business opportunities
  • Assist Sales during sales pursuits and represent Honeywell to end-users and competitors
  • Learn the end-to-end product/solution development and delivery/execution of Honeywell products and solutions
  • Use technical expertise of sophisticated Honeywell solutions to improve customer experience
  • Lead and assist in training less experienced field service engineers

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 5+ years' hands-on experience working with control methodology in Distributed Control System (DCS) PLC and HMI platforms
  • 5+ years' field engineering experience
  • Knowledge of network architecture and control communication protocols
  • Valid driver's license
  • Willingness and ability to travel 50% of the time

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical/Engineering field
  • Lead experience
  • At least one L4 certification on any domain Experion or TPS
  • Experience with Experion PKS Hardware & Software, including Hiway, TDC, & TPS system experience
  • 3rd Party controls experience
  • Project Management experience (budget control, schedules, resource allocation, reporting)
