About the position

The Advanced Innovation Software Developer at Binghamton University is responsible for the rapid development of sophisticated tools, applications, and workflows to enhance the efficiency of services provided to the campus community. This role involves maintaining a catalog of Open Source software that supports core applications and business processes, as well as building and supporting web applications and complex workflows. The developer will collaborate closely with various departments and staff within Information Technology Services (ITS) and must ensure compliance with data confidentiality and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Rapidly develop sophisticated tools, applications, and workflows for the campus community.
• Maintain a sizable catalog of Open Source software for core applications and business processes.
• Build and support web applications and complex workflows.
• Create and consume RESTful Web APIs.
• Implement and integrate ReCAPTCHA and mailing systems (SMTP) for large-scale email communications.
• Publish to the web and manage applications and servers.
• Collaborate with Administrative and Academic departments and other key groups within ITS.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems/Sciences, or a related field.
• One year of coding experience in languages and frameworks including C# /.Net /MVC, JavaScript, HTML/CSS/Bootstrap, GitHub, SQL/NoSQL.
• Experience with the implementation & integration of ReCAPTCHA.
• Experience with the implementation & integration of mailing systems (SMTP) with over 1000 emails sent.
• Experience with the implementation & integration of language options.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
