About the position

The position involves developing inspection equipment to ensure that Apple products meet high standards across various hardware, including iPhone, Mac, iPad, Watch, and VisionPro. The role requires a blend of technical project management, data analytics, and advancements in machine learning and optical improvements, with a focus on building software ML solutions from inception to production.

Responsibilities

• Develop inspection equipment for Apple products to meet high standards.
• Manage collaboration with vendors to maintain schedules and ramp dates.
• Build software ML solutions using machine or computer vision for CNNs and object detection.
• Script in Python, CLI, Linux, and Unix for software development.
• Utilize ML and statistical analysis libraries such as Turi Create, PyTorch, Keras, Scikit-learn, and SciPy.
• Present analyses and ML concepts to a broad technical audience.

Requirements

• 2+ years experience in computer vision, machine vision, or machine learning techniques.
• Software development skills in Python.
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Systems Design, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience.

Nice-to-haves

• Knowledge of basic networking concepts and protocols (TCP/IP, HTTP).
• Experience with 2D/3D triangulation laser systems or CCD inspection systems (Halcon, Keyence, Cognex, Visco).
• Familiarity with mechanical metrology system qualification processes (Gauge R&R, Correlation, Stability, Reliability).
• Understanding of optics, image acquisition, software filtering, and judgment algorithms.
• Basic understanding of manufacturing processes (CNC, modeling, laser welding).
• Intermediate knowledge of automation including system layout and cycle time optimization.
