About the position

The Advanced Issue Resolution - Electrical/Hardware Engineer III position at Hewlett Packard Enterprise focuses on enterprise server design, development, and sustenance. The role involves leading project teams in electrical hardware design and development, ensuring compliance with technology guidelines, and providing expertise in electrical/electronic hardware. The engineer will work in a hybrid environment, primarily in the Spring, TX office, and will be responsible for driving innovation and mentoring less-experienced staff.

Responsibilities

  • Owns platform overall technical accountability in terms of field quality, open issues, second source efforts and new feature assessment and validation.
  • Leads multiple project teams of other electrical hardware engineers, extended engineering functional teams and internal, outsourced development partners responsible for all stages of electrical hardware design and development for complex products, solutions, and platforms, including design, validation, tooling and testing.
  • Manages and expands relationships with internal and outsourced development partners on electrical hardware design and system development.
  • Reviews and evaluates designs and project activities for compliance with technology and development guidelines and standards; provides tangible feedback to improve product quality.
  • Provides domain-specific expertise and overall electrical/electronic hardware and platform leadership and perspective to cross-organization projects, programs, and activities.
  • Drives innovation and integration of new technologies into projects and activities in the electrical hardware design organization.
  • Provides guidance and mentoring to less-experienced staff members.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Typically 3-6 years experience.
  • Using electrical design tools and software packages.
  • Good understanding of fishbone analysis and 5C/8D process.
  • Experience working on complex hardware and system level issues.
  • Good understanding of Firmware, BIOS, BMC and Operating System.
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Experience in overall architecture of electronic hardware for products and solutions.
  • Designing and integrating electronic components, integrated circuitry, and algorithms into overall architecture.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; mastery in English and local language.
