About the position

The Electrical/Hardware Engineer III role at Hewlett Packard Enterprise focuses on enterprise server design, development, and sustenance. This position requires expertise in electrical design, root cause analysis, and hardware debugging, with responsibilities spanning from design to validation of complex products. The engineer will lead project teams, manage relationships with development partners, and provide technical guidance while ensuring compliance with development standards.

Responsibilities

  • Owns platform overall technical accountability in terms of field quality, open issues, second source efforts and new feature assessment and validation.
  • Leads multiple project teams of electrical hardware engineers and extended engineering functional teams responsible for all stages of electrical hardware design and development.
  • Manages and expands relationships with internal and outsourced development partners on electrical hardware design and system development.
  • Reviews and evaluates designs and project activities for compliance with technology and development guidelines and standards; provides feedback to improve product quality.
  • Provides domain-specific expertise and overall electrical/electronic hardware and platform leadership to cross-organization projects.
  • Drives innovation and integration of new technologies into projects in the electrical hardware design organization.
  • Provides guidance and mentoring to less-experienced staff members.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Typically 3-6+ years experience in electrical hardware engineering.
  • Experience with electrical design tools and software packages.
  • Good understanding of fishbone analysis and 5C/8D process.
  • Experience working on complex hardware and system level issues.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in overall architecture of electronic hardware for products and solutions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; mastery in English and local language.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with debug equipment like analyzers and scopes.
  • Knowledge of Firmware, BIOS, BMC, and Operating System.
  • Ability to effectively communicate product architectures and negotiate options at senior management levels.
