About the position

The Advanced Lead Researcher in Membrane Engineering & Applications at Veolia Water Technologies & Solutions is responsible for advancing the company's sustainability goals by developing and implementing innovative membrane separation products. This role involves significant collaboration with internal and external teams, project management, and hands-on testing at customer sites. The position requires a strong background in chemical and mechanical engineering, as well as a commitment to improving water usage and reducing carbon emissions.

Responsibilities

  • Lead pilot testing of separation membrane applications in-house and at customer sites, including travel up to about 20% of the time.
  • Develop and conduct process simulations to model membrane performance and optimize flow sheet design for specific applications.
  • Scale up membrane and module production processes from pilot scale to production.
  • Lead design and modification of production equipment to enable manufacture of new products.
  • Design and build test equipment for separation membranes.
  • Optimize design of modules using CFD and similar design optimization tools, as well as experiments to verify design performance.

Requirements

  • BS, MS or PhD in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or Membrane Science or similar area.
  • Industrial work experience for BS or MS candidates of 5-10 years; PhD candidates without industrial work experience will be considered.
