About the position

The Advanced Manufacturing Grant Specialist at Moraine Park Technical College is a full-time, limited-term position focused on guiding faculty in course development related to the Department of Labor Strengthening Community Colleges Grant initiatives. This role involves collaboration with various stakeholders to enhance advanced manufacturing programs and ensure compliance with grant requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a liaison to support the Department of Labor Strengthening Community Colleges Grant.
  • Collaborate with WTCS colleges to align programming and share best practices.
  • Support grant activities including report writing, data collection, analysis, and project management.
  • Guide the course development process in collaboration with the Instructional Design team.
  • Research and recommend emerging instructional strategies and maintain knowledge of best practices.
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with the college community and external partners.
  • Conduct audits of existing high school career academies and coordinate updates of agreements.
  • Ensure microcredentials are relevant and congruent with curricular standards and grant expectations.
  • Assist with post-award dissemination of materials and coordination of grant-related activities.
  • Maintain accurate files and documents in electronic repositories.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in business, communications, or a related field.
  • Two years of related work experience in grant or project management.
  • Demonstrated project management experience and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work within a learning management system (e.g., Canvas, Blackboard).
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 applications.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with diverse populations.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design, Curriculum and Instruction, Education, or a related field.
  • Experience with open educational resources (OERs) and microcredentials.
  • Knowledge of Industry 4.0 in advanced manufacturing and cybersecurity.
  • Experience working with federal and/or state grants.
