About the position
The internship program at GlobalFoundries aims to provide students with a meaningful work experience in the semiconductor industry. Interns will engage in hands-on projects, receive mentorship, and have opportunities for professional development while working at the Fab 9 location in Essex Junction, VT. The role focuses on process engineering, where interns will manage equipment quality control and drive continuous improvement efforts.
Responsibilities
- Establish and manage the equipment quality control plan.
- Drive continuous improvement efforts in support of throughput improvement, cost reduction, and yield learning.
- Define and maintain equipment installation process qualification or installation roadmaps.
- Design, execute, and analyze experiments to screen and optimize manufacturing processes to meet technology and manufacturing targets.
- Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs.
Requirements
- At least a sophomore at time of application and actively pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering, Material Science Engineering, or related field.
- Fluency in English (Written & Verbal).
- Ability to work at least 40 hours per week during the internship.
Nice-to-haves
- Prior related internship or co-op experience.
- Demonstrated prior leadership experience in the workplace, school projects, competitions, etc.
- Project management skills, including the ability to innovate and execute on solutions that matter.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong planning & organizational skills.
- Knowledge of Semiconductor Manufacturing.
- Knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC) and Design of Experiments (DOE).
