About the position

The Advanced Office Clerk position at AAI involves providing administrative support at the 63rd Medical Group located at Langley AFB. The role is crucial for maintaining medical readiness by managing patient records, scheduling appointments, and ensuring effective communication within the medical facility. The clerk will work in a dynamic environment, supporting healthcare providers and facilitating patient care through various clerical tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Perform receptionist duties and answer telephones.
  • Schedule medical appointments and determine patient eligibility for services.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient schedules and logs.
  • Call patients to schedule, reschedule, and/or cancel appointments.
  • Organize and research patient records, ensuring completeness and accuracy.
  • Conduct daily pull, delivery, and retrieval of patient records.
  • Prepare reports regarding record statistics as necessary.
  • Initiate and locate patient medical records.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED equivalency.
  • Basic medical terminology knowledge required.
  • At least one year of experience in medical office scheduling or relevant experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • Familiarity with military health care computer systems such as AHLTA and CHCS.
  • Experience with military filing systems and medical record tracking procedures.
