About the position

The Advanced Office Clerk at AAI will provide clerical and administrative support at the 62 Area Branch Clinic, Physical Therapy Department, and Radiology at Naval Hospital Camp Pendleton, CA. This role involves scheduling appointments, maintaining medical records, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements while supporting healthcare operations for over 75,000 beneficiaries.

Responsibilities

• Schedule appointments in Composite Health Care Systems (CHCS/AHLTA) or MHS GENESIS for various medical care.
• Call patients to schedule, reschedule, and cancel appointments as needed.
• Process and maintain inpatient, outpatient, or ambulatory procedure unit medical records.
• Compile or extract medical records data to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Participate in peer review and performance improvement activities.
• Practice aseptic techniques and comply with infection control guidelines.
• Document patient care accurately and timely.
• Operate automated systems such as Genesis, ADS, Essentris, and Clinical Information System (CIS).
• Participate in the command's Performance Improvement Program and provide in-service training to clinic staff.
• Respond to email and voicemail communications promptly.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Basic medical terminology knowledge required.
• At least 6 months of experience in an office setting.
• Familiarity with military healthcare systems and procedures such as AHLTA, CHCS, and MHS GENESIS.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with Defense Enrollment Eligibility Reporting System (DEERS).
• Knowledge of military medical record contents and tracking procedures.
