About the position

Rocky Mountain Cancer Centers is seeking a part-time Advanced Practice Practitioner to provide comprehensive care for cancer patients in Thornton, CO. This role involves assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care, while also providing education and support to patients and their families. The position emphasizes a commitment to compassionate care and may include responsibilities such as case management and staff education.

Responsibilities

  • Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates care for patients.
  • Initiates and documents appropriate interventions; evaluates and records patient/family response and prescribes therapies as indicated.
  • Performs procedures with minimal supervision.
  • Assesses patient/family needs and provides education.
  • Promotes wellness and recommends community resources to meet patient and family needs.
  • Incorporates evidence-based research into clinical practice.
  • Completes patient charge capture and medical record documentation in a timely fashion.
  • Provides case management for patients and their families.
  • Serves as a resource for nursing staff by providing information being studied in clinical trials.
  • May provide palliative care for the patient and their families as needed.
  • May promote/provide staff education.
  • Responsibilities may include rounding at affiliated hospitals, weekend or after-hour calls.
  • May mentor new advanced practice providers.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Nursing (MSN) from an accredited nursing school and successful completion of a Nurse Practitioner program.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a practicing Nurse Practitioner, preferably in the chosen specialty.
  • RN state licensure and current registration with the State Board of Nursing in practicing state.
  • Current state licensure as a Nurse Practitioner.
  • AOCNP preferred.
  • Current basic life support (BLS)/CPR certification required.
  • Successful completion of an accredited Physician Assistant program (if applicable).
  • Current NCCPA certification (if applicable).
  • Current state license as a Physician Assistant in practicing state (if applicable).
  • Current basic life support (BLS)/CPR certification required (if applicable).
  • Master's degree in Nursing (MSN) from an accredited nursing school and successful completion of a Clinical Nurse Specialist program (if applicable).
  • Minimum of 3 years of practicing Clinical Nurse Specialist, preferably in the chosen specialty (if applicable).
  • Current state licensure as a Clinical Nurse Specialist (if applicable).
  • AOCNS preferred (if applicable).
  • Current basic life support (BLS)/CPR certification required.
