About the position

The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) role at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSK) involves collaborating with healthcare teams to secure authorizations for critical radiology scans, ensuring comprehensive patient care. This position allows for autonomy in planning and prioritizing tasks, with opportunities for professional growth in oncology care and process improvement initiatives. The APP will utilize a centralized Salesforce system to streamline authorization processes and act as a clinical expert in overcoming insurance denials, contributing to improved patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with patient financial services, physicians, and healthcare team members to secure authorizations for radiology scans.
  • Utilize the centralized Salesforce system to streamline authorization processes.
  • Act as a clinical expert working with external vendors to overturn insurance denials.
  • Complete peer-to-peer calls to support patient outcomes.
  • Participate in radiology education and process improvement initiatives.
  • Engage in team meetings to advance the mission and goals of MSK.

Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited PA program or equivalent.
  • NCCPA certification required.
  • Active NJ and NY licenses or eligibility to obtain both.
  • A minimum of 2 years of related experience is required.
  • Experience in Oncology is required.
  • BLS certification required.
  • Master's degree in nursing or related field.
  • Prescriptive privileges or eligibility preferred.
  • 2+ years of related clinical experience as a Nurse Practitioner preferred.

Nice-to-haves

  • Related National NP certification.
