About the position

The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) role at UNC Urgent Care involves providing high-quality, cost-effective care to patients in collaboration with a supervising physician. The APP will work within a team of healthcare professionals across multiple clinics, focusing on patient assessment, treatment planning, and education while adhering to organizational policies and standards.

Responsibilities

  • Obtain relevant health and medical history and perform thorough physical assessments.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans, including prescribing appropriate pharmacological agents.
  • Conduct preventive health screenings based on patient needs and maintain comprehensive records of patient care.
  • Educate clients and families regarding medical conditions, treatments, and follow-up care.
  • Lead and participate in community outreach programs and systems improvements.
  • Engage in continuous quality improvement and consult with management on clinical issues.

Requirements

  • Completion of an accredited graduate-level Advanced Practice Provider (APRN or PA) program.
  • Licensed as a Physician Assistant in the state of North Carolina.
  • Board certification if required by the Department.
  • Demonstrated clinical competency and effective leadership skills.
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
