About The Position
Franciscan Physician Network is seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant to join the WorkingWell team as a part-time coworker. This role involves providing a combination of Occupational Medicine, Urgent Care, and Family Medicine. The ideal candidate will be willing to travel to various locations, including Valparaiso, Portage, Michigan City, Munster, Crown Point, St. John, Rensselaer, or Hobart. The position offers a strong mentorship environment, allowing for professional growth and development within the team. The candidate should have experience in Occupational Medicine, Urgent Care, or Family Medicine, and must possess ACLS/BLS certifications. They should be capable of seeing all patient types and must be certified or willing to become certified to conduct US Department of Transportation (DOT) physicals by the National Registry of Certified Medical Examiners (NRCME). This role is designed for those who are committed to providing high-quality care in a supportive setting. The expected schedule for this position is Monday through Saturday from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm, with rotating shifts every other or every third Saturday. The role includes 10-hour shifts at various clinics, with an average outpatient volume of 25 to 30 patients per day and an average of 5 telehealth visits per day. The candidate will be expected to perform common procedures such as handling exposures, lacerations, musculoskeletal injuries, and conducting pre-employment, DOT, and Non-DOT physicals. Additionally, the candidate will be involved in suturing and will have the opportunity to learn to read and interpret x-rays and EKGs.
