About the position
The Advanced Practice Provider at Oregon Health & Science University is responsible for providing comprehensive inpatient and outpatient care for Vascular Surgery patients. This role involves collaborating with faculty physicians to develop clinical plans, educating staff, and ensuring high-quality patient services. The position also includes assisting in surgical procedures and participating in resident training and educational programs.
Responsibilities
- Provide inpatient care and follow-up for assigned patients from OR to admission and through discharge.
- Round daily with faculty and develop clinical plans of care for inpatients on the Vascular Surgery service.
- Educate house staff and nursing unit staff on clinical protocols to enhance quality of care.
- Participate in evaluating the effectiveness of clinical protocols and improve patient services.
- Work with hospital staff to develop and implement discharge plans for inpatients.
- Promote and maintain the health of inpatients through education and counseling.
- Provide training and education for residents and interns on plans of care.
- Assist Vascular surgeons in the operating room during various surgical procedures.
- Take comprehensive histories and perform physical examinations in the outpatient clinic.
Requirements
- At least 1 year of experience in a relevant clinical setting.
- High School Diploma or GED.
