About the position

Reading Hospital is seeking a Full Time Advanced Practitioner in the Neurosurgery Office, which includes both inpatient and outpatient care, as well as trauma on-call coverage. This role is essential to support the growth and community needs of a highly respected neurosurgical practice that has served Berks County for nearly six decades. The Advanced Practitioner will be involved in patient care in the office, assist with daily hospital rounds, and participate in surgical cases as needed, including being part of the practice call schedule.

Responsibilities

• See patients in the office and assist with daily rounds in the hospital.
• Participate in surgical cases as needed.
• Conduct staple/suture removal, wound checks, and shunt adjustments.
• Work in the ambulatory clinic for 2 days and hospital rounding/OR for 3 days.
• Participate in rotational weekends and overnight call.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited Advanced Practitioner program and licensure in Pennsylvania.
• Master's Degree in a relevant field.
• BLS Certification and PA DEA License.
• DOT Medical Examiner Certification and PA Physician Assistant License.
• NCCPA Certification.
• Surgical experience preferred but not required.
• Strong desire to work in a surgical environment.
• Computer skills including navigation and use of Microsoft Office applications.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
