About the position

The Advanced Practitioner Provider is responsible for delivering patient and family-focused medical care in accordance with the mission and policies of Norton Sound Health Corporation (NSHC). This role involves assessing, planning, and providing comprehensive medical care under the supervision of a physician, while ensuring compliance with medical staff bylaws and organizational values. The position requires coordination of patient assignments, monitoring of care, and providing backup for physicians, with a focus on effective and efficient patient care delivery.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan and provide patient care under the supervision of a physician.
• Examine patients and perform comprehensive physical examinations.
• Compile patient medical data, including health history and results of physical examinations.
• Ensure proper illness and injury care, disease prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and recovery.
• Use appropriate processes for assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation of patient needs.
• Ensure effective and efficient patient care and discharge planning.
• Facilitate patient and family learning and reinforce continued healthcare through teaching or referrals.
• Demonstrate ability to care for various patient populations including critically ill, traumatized, and pediatric patients.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Master's Degree in Physician Assistant or Family Nurse Practitioner program.
• Licensed to practice as a Midlevel in the State of Alaska.
• NCCPA, PALS, Medivac, ACLS, and BLS certification/registration required.
• DEA# required.
• Ability to perform a high level of customer service.
• Ability to manage stresses and pressures in a fast-paced environment.
