The Naval Nuclear Laboratory (NNL) is seeking a front-end application developer to support training programs for nuclear navy personnel. The Naval Training and Simulation (NTS) department of Fluor Marine Propulsion (FMP) provides direct support to navy nuclear training at the Nuclear Naval Training Command in Charleston, SC. The Naval Training Computer Systems team designs and implements database applications and middle-tier services used to manage and track students, including the reporting of progress and data analytics. The successful candidate will work in a technically diverse environment with a team to support all aspects of design, peer review, implementation, and testing.

Responsibilities

  • Support the design and implementation of front-end applications for training programs.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure effective peer review and testing processes.
  • Develop and maintain database applications and middle-tier services for managing student data.
  • Utilize data analytics tools to report on student progress and performance.
  • Participate in agile development practices to enhance software engineering methodologies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience; or a Master's degree from an accredited college or university in a related field and a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Proficient in web-based application development, including middle-tier services.
  • Experience with C#, JavaScript, and HTML.
  • Some experience in developing front-end applications for SQL databases.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Proficient in the application of software engineering methodologies, including agile development practices.
  • Experience with off-the-shelf tools for data analytics.
