About the position

The Advanced Solutions Consultant - Indirect at Lumen Technologies is a pivotal role focused on driving change and enhancing the capabilities of sales teams through coaching and mentorship. This position aims to elevate the skills of sales professionals, ensuring they leverage the right resources to achieve success. The consultant will work closely with account teams to identify business outcomes and demonstrate how Lumen's platform can deliver these outcomes, ultimately supporting the growth of the organization and its customer relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Support early-stage customer development alongside the sales team positioning Lumen services directly with customers.
  • Act as a virtual team member accountable for technology outcome vision for customers, collaborating with account teams on opportunity pursuits.
  • Establish business relationships at senior levels of customer organizations to facilitate solution selling aligned with customer outcomes.
  • Orchestrate and deliver content, information, and tools to prepare sellers for achieving Lumen's business goals.
  • Support thought leadership initiatives to generate new upsell and cross-sell opportunities for Lumen.
  • Chair and speak at events to promote Lumen in the customer and market.
  • Interface with the product organization to capture customer feedback for service improvement.
  • Evaluate and deploy new enablement methods and initiatives in collaboration with Product, Marketing, and Sales Operations.
  • Design and lead Solutions Development/Unfreezing/Advisement Workshops.
  • Engage with the Customer Success team to support initiatives that maximize the use of procured services.
  • Track and measure the results of enablement programs and report findings to key stakeholders.

Requirements

  • 7 years of relevant job experience with similar essential duties.
  • Demonstrated technical sales experience (at least 3 years) in Cloud/Technology sales and solution leadership.
  • Subject matter expertise in a key technology area such as Security or RPA.
  • Experience in consultative sales techniques and account planning, including customer needs analysis and long-range account management strategies.
  • Flexibility and ability to adjust to new demands with a high sense of urgency.
  • Ability to translate customer drivers into differentiated value positioning.
  • Internal and external financial analysis and market acumen.
  • Facilitating and leading discovery sessions to uncover and elevate customer pains.
  • Advanced presentation and public speaking skills.
  • Strong collaboration and problem-solving skills.
