About the position

The Advancement Communications Specialist at Susquehanna University is responsible for developing and executing communication strategies aimed at enhancing donor relations and alumni engagement. This role involves writing, project management, and collaboration with various departments to create impactful communications that align with the university's brand and mission.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute advancement communications strategies.
  • Manage the production of donor-related communications projects.
  • Advise on strategic development for capital campaign and major gift communications.
  • Measure the success of communications through data and analytics.
  • Write for print and digital formats in alignment with the university's brand.
  • Provide support for social media initiatives and web content development.
  • Assist with budget management and expense tracking for communications projects.
  • Support donor and alumni print publications with content and story ideas.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, English, journalism or a related field.
  • Minimum of two years of relevant experience in communications or marketing, preferably in higher education or fundraising.
  • Expertise in results-oriented communications and digital marketing.
  • Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills with attention to detail.
  • Exceptional interpersonal communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Delivra, Give Campus, and other fundraising or communications software platforms.
  • Digital experience with e-marketing, social media, video, and web communications.
