About the position

The Advancement Database Analyst at the University of Texas at Tyler Health Science Center is responsible for managing and maintaining the Raiser's Edge database, ensuring data integrity, and providing support for gift processing. This role involves creating complex queries and reports, serving as a liaison between Advancement Services and other departments, and participating in project management tasks. The analyst will also assess and recommend changes to policies and procedures to enhance the effectiveness of the Advancement team.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and administer the Raiser's Edge database, ensuring data integrity and maintenance.
  • Perform gift processing activities and generate related reports.
  • Create both basic and complex queries for data exports as needed.
  • Maintain donor relations through accurate handling and recording of gifts.
  • Create and manage cost centers and perform budget transfer tasks.
  • Create and update constituent records in Raiser's Edge, ensuring no duplicates are created.
  • Generate appeals and ensure proper crediting of gifts received.
  • Develop detailed and customized reports for the Advancement team.
  • Import data for new graduates and maintain dashboards for tracking performance.
  • Manage database access and conduct periodic reviews of user permissions.
  • Perform regular audits of database records to ensure accurate coding of gifts and attributes.
  • Train and support end-users of Raiser's Edge to enhance their operational capabilities.
  • Communicate with staff and constituents regarding data issues and provide technical support.
  • Lead new projects and delegate tasks to ensure timely completion.
  • Stay updated with industry standards and recommend improvements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of database experience, preferably with Raiser's Edge.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, including formulas and formatting.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and propose solutions to problems.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Strong customer service skills and attention to detail.
