About the position

The Advisor/Recruiter at Monroe Community College plays a crucial role in the development and execution of a comprehensive admissions and student recruitment program. This position focuses on building community relationships to enhance student enrollment from a designated recruitment territory, requiring the individual to meet and exceed predetermined enrollment goals.

Responsibilities

  • Provide admissions, academic advisement, and financial aid guidance to prospective students.
  • Allocate approximately 60% of responsibilities to recruitment travel, including high schools, community events, college fairs, and partner agencies.
  • Conduct admissions appointments, presentations, and workshops both on campus and at off-site venues.
  • Evaluate and make admissions decisions on applications, assist with transfer credit evaluations, and manage applications within an assigned territory.
  • Develop and implement recruitment and enrollment strategies to increase student enrollment, particularly within Monroe and surrounding counties.
  • Maintain familiarity with both credit and non-credit program offerings at the College.
  • Coordinate recruitment activities to support partnerships with high schools, community agencies, and businesses.
  • Convert inquiries into enrollments to achieve set enrollment goals for each semester and meet weekly and monthly targets.
  • Maintain thorough knowledge of the College's entrance requirements, curriculum, transfer pathways, and placement outcomes.
  • Utilize technology and software systems to efficiently manage recruitment, marketing, and admissions processes.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements

  • Earned Associate's degree or above.
  • Knowledge of the philosophy of the community college.
  • Evidence of effective communication (interpersonal, speaking, and writing) skills.
  • Successful candidate will need to meet the College's driving requirements and be willing to travel to recruitment visits within Monroe and the surrounding counties and across New York State.
  • Availability to work evenings and weekends as designated by supervisor.
  • Evidence of team-centered approach to problem solving.

Nice-to-haves
