About the position

The Advisor, Business Development is primarily responsible for the acquisition of new customers through the sale of commercial loans, commercial deposits, cash management services, and Point of Sales and investment referrals, as well as the expansion of the relationships of these customers. The position involves implementing effective strategies to support the attraction and retention of profitable commercial customers while conducting business within corporate policies & procedures and regulatory requirements. This position will be working in a hybrid model and is based in Oriental Center, Hato Rey.

Responsibilities

  • Analyzes and prepares loan requests for small commercial loans following Bank's Commercial Credit Policy and supporting credit and risk personnel to comply with these policies.
  • Sell financial institution products and services, focused on Professional and PYMES clients. Responsible for business sales goals achievement which consists of deposits, business credit, cash management and Point of Sales.
  • Follows the official guides for interest rates and service charges in interactions with customers and prospects.
  • Actively supports the promotional activities of the Bank and participates in conventions and others.
  • Maintains and enhances information base on local and national economics, as well as other concerns that would impact the financial institution's lending activities.
  • Makes recommendations to management on client's product improvements or changes.
  • Ensures that all transactions are carried out in full compliance with the institution policies, procedures and with established regulatory standards and guidelines, as well as any related international rules & regulations.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or related field.
  • Three (3) years of professional experience in sales or similar position. Banking experience is highly desirable.
  • Excellent sales, interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Good understanding of financial products and services preferred.
  • Ability to interpret and implement banking regulations and procedures.
  • Able to perform multiple tasks at the same time with minimum supervision.
  • Self-starter, results oriented, dynamic & team player.
  • Excellent computer skills in the use of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Outlook, Internet Tools and other operative programs.
  • Proficient communication skills, verbal and written in both Spanish and English required.
