About the position

The Advisor, FLTA position at the Institute of International Education (IIE) focuses on managing the Fulbright Foreign Language Teaching Assistant Program, which aims to enhance Americans' understanding of foreign cultures and languages. This role involves supporting a diverse group of international educators as they teach their languages at U.S. institutions, ensuring their well-being and program compliance while fostering cross-cultural connections.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the main point of contact for a medium to large caseload of participants and host institutions, potentially over 250.
  • Monitor, track, and report on participant academic or professional progress, conduct, well-being, and program compliance.
  • Provide emergency support, connecting participants to local resources and coordinating follow-up as necessary.
  • Maintain participant data in CRM, following established processes.
  • Assist in the planning, implementation, and program representation at regional events as necessary.
  • Responsible for the renewal of grants in coordination with internal and external partners.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and at least two years of related work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong understanding of international participants and ability to manage cultural and counseling issues.
  • Project management, time management, and administrative skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Ability to interact with all levels of staff and clients, exercising discretion on confidential matters.
