About the position

The Advisor, On-Premise Hospitality is a pivotal role responsible for driving brand and commercial performance across a designated territory of on-premise accounts for a large portfolio of spirits brands. This position requires a strategic approach to business solutions and a deep understanding of the hospitality industry. The advisor will report directly to the Manager, On-Premise Hospitality, and will utilize their industry expertise, brand programming, and agency resources to create value for on-premise customers, which are primarily account decision-makers. The goal is to build long-term relationships that enhance the portfolio's presence and performance in the market. In this role, the advisor will be accountable for maintaining legal and marketing code guidelines, ensuring compliance in all activities. Customer engagement is a core responsibility, where the advisor will drive brand presence and advocacy through strategic engagement activities tailored to various segments of on-premise accounts. The advisor will also be responsible for planning, tracking, and implementing brand and portfolio engagement strategies using performance data provided by both the agency and the client. Understanding consumer trends within the on-premise accounts will be crucial for informing customer engagement sessions. The advisor will leverage social media platforms to support brand initiatives and will be responsible for the accurate and timely management of agency initiatives, including budget and expense management, reporting, and performance data tracking. They will also curate insights related to brand, market, competitive, and customer dynamics, and facilitate opportunities for education teams to engage with on-premise customers. Success in this role will be measured by commercial growth, menu presence growth, effective program delivery, and positive feedback from various stakeholders. The advisor will also be expected to develop their knowledge in spirits across several categories and enhance their presentation skills.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain all legal and marketing code guidelines.
  • Drive brand presence, performance, and advocacy in various segments of on-premise accounts using strategic engagement activities.
  • Plan, track, and implement brand and portfolio engagement using performance data provided by agency and client.
  • Gain insight into consumer trends in various segments of on-premise accounts to inform customer engagement sessions.
  • Utilize social media platforms to support brand initiatives.
  • Complete accurate and timely management of agency initiatives including budget and expense management.
  • Manage all reporting responsibilities and track performance data using agency-appointed platforms.
  • Participate in all internal training initiatives.
  • Manage point of sale, asset, and warehouse management.
  • Curate brand, market, competitive, and customer insights.
  • Seek, secure, and facilitate opportunities to bring education team content to on-premise customers.
  • Serve as key liaison between the portfolio, distributor, manager, and customers for the accounts within the coverage territory.
  • Develop and deepen knowledge in spirits across several categories and skills in verbal and written presentation.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in the spirits or hospitality industry.
  • Distributor or broker experience is a plus.
  • Bar/restaurant/hotel operator experience is a plus.
  • Growing network of industry professionals in the market.
  • Knowledge of liquor laws, regulations, and rules.
  • Interest in growing knowledge in spirits history/production and cocktail culture.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Persuasive selling and negotiation skills to develop and maintain strong relationships.
  • Ability to tailor communications for a variety of on-premise environments.
  • Deep understanding of market and industry trends.
  • Strong budget management skills.
  • Social media fluency.
  • Ability to work remotely and flexible hours.
  • Access to reliable transportation to travel to and from accounts.
  • Desire for mentorship and willingness to contribute to team culture.
