About the position

The Field Relations Business Lead at Northwestern Mutual plays a crucial role within the Advisor Solutions department, focusing on enhancing the sales and growth objectives of the company. This position involves mapping out business consulting processes, designing future state experiences, and providing expert consultation to meet both functional and cross-functional goals. The lead will engage with advisors to improve client engagement and adoption of services, while also managing relationships and communication strategies across the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Engage with sophisticated advisors to understand practice operations and enhance client engagement.
  • Consult on the development and implementation of a communication strategy for the Adoption Initiative.
  • Drive organizational change consulting and methodology across the function.
  • Develop actionable insights from field feedback to inform adoption strategies and product development.
  • Coordinate with technology partners for high-level impact analysis of proposed solutions.
  • Analyze the industry landscape and serve as a subject matter expert on priority initiatives.
  • Assist the business in developing a point of view on future state experiences.

Requirements

  • Advanced degree in Business, Finance, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 10 years of progressively responsible experience in financial services distribution.
  • Experience in project management and consulting work.
  • Strong leadership, vision, and strategy skills.
  • Excellent facilitation experience and ability to influence others.
  • High level of credibility with Network Offices and field management.
  • In-depth knowledge of distribution systems and Northwestern Mutual's products.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong background in analytics and measurement.
