About the position
The Merchandising Team Leader (Assistant Manager) plays a crucial role in developing and implementing the merchandising strategy for the store. This position focuses on training and coaching the team to deliver exceptional visual standards and guest experiences, ensuring the store is always ready for customers. The leader is responsible for driving sales, managing merchandising operations, and fostering a positive team environment while upholding company values.
Responsibilities
- Drive sales by maximizing Fitting Room and Salesfloor productivity.
- Analyze reporting and daily trends to make strategic business decisions.
- Coach the team to deliver outstanding guest experiences and maintain AEO Brand Standards.
- Lead day-to-day merchandising, sell-through adjustments, and replenishment.
- Motivate and inspire the team through AEO's core values and customer service standards.
- Recruit and hire strong talent to meet business needs.
- Provide ongoing performance feedback and conduct team touchbases, development plans, and performance reviews.
- Execute and innovate daily operational procedures while maintaining visual standards.
- Ensure store safety and adhere to Asset Protection standards.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a retail management role.
- Strong multi-tasking abilities and attention to detail.
- Ability to lead and develop teams with a general understanding of employment law.
- Business acumen and strategic thinking skills.
- Flexible availability to work when guests shop.
