About the position

The Aero Alliance Repair Development Product Manager will play a crucial role in enhancing productivity and deliverables across the repair network, with a specific focus on supporting both internal and external shops. This position involves close collaboration with GE Aerospace and the global vendor network to execute strategies aimed at maximizing product cost efficiency, improving turnaround times, and achieving other key performance outcomes for the Aero Alliance and its customers. The role is pivotal in driving the Repair Development Strategy for Aero Alliance, a joint venture between GE Vernova and Baker Hughes, particularly for key product lines. The responsibilities include the creation and execution of the Repair Multi-Generational Product Plan (MGPP) and New Product Introduction (NPI) initiatives aimed at expanding Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) capabilities and Level 5 Component Repairs. The Product Manager will manage comprehensive business cases for repairs, which encompass engineering, product and engineering (P&E), and any related capital or operational expenses necessary for developing new repairs for both existing fleets and new products. Additionally, the role requires close collaboration with the Cost Out team to ensure visibility into total productivity stemming from repair programs, while also partnering with the Operations team to enhance control over the performance of internal and external vendors. Execution of repair activities is another critical aspect of this role, where the Product Manager will identify opportunities to improve turnaround times for Level 5 repairs across the supply chain of Aeroderivative technology. This includes working cross-functionally to develop and implement action plans, ensuring timely execution of repair activities, and addressing critical issues in partnership with shops. The role demands a strong operating rigor on execution and process improvement, particularly concerning Departure Records to meet critical customer needs. The Product Manager will also work closely with engineering and operations teams to execute repairs effectively and define the most beneficial repair strategies in the Americas region.

Responsibilities

  • Drive Repair Development Strategy for Aero Alliance for key product lines.
  • Support creation and execution of Repair Multi-Generational Product Plan (MGPP) and New Product Introduction (NPI) for MRO expansion and Level 5 Component Repairs.
  • Manage full business cases for repairs, including Engineering, P&E and any related capital or operational expense investment to develop new repairs.
  • Support visibility for total Productivity coming from Repair programs, working closely with Cost Out team.
  • Partner with Operations team to maximize control over internal and external vendors' performance.
  • Partner with Cost-Out Team exploring potential cost-out projects from ideas generated during AWO & sharing sessions with cross functional teams.
  • Enhance repair development awareness within Aero Alliance network, monitoring Repair yields, repetitive DRs, top purchased spare parts, among other KPIs.
  • Identify opportunities for improved Turn Around Time for Level 5 repairs across Supply chain of Aeroderivative technology.
  • Drive partnership for improvement for GEA L5 Shops performance through recurrent reviews.
  • Ensure timely execution of repair activities, supporting shops for critical issues.
  • Drive strong operating rigor on execution and process improvement for Departure Records to meet critical customer needs.
  • Work in close partnership between Engineering and Operations to execute repairs.
  • Boost Repair value defining most beneficial repair strategy in the Americas Region.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Computer Science, Business or related field of study from an accredited college or university.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in Product Management, Engineering, or other relevant technical functions.
  • Demonstrable competence in Aeroderivative repair world.
  • Proven track record of delivering results in a dynamic business environment.
  • Owner's mindset and proactive action and communication.
  • Experience that demonstrates deep technical knowledge and understanding of Aeroderivative Gas Turbines is an advantage.
  • Self-directed with demonstrated leadership and problem-solving skills.
  • Displays good interpersonal skills, and able to communicate well with internal and external customers.
  • Six Sigma Green Belt certification or equivalent quality certification.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet goals and objectives.
  • PC Proficiency.
