About the position

The Aero Services Repairs Engineering Leader at GE Vernova is responsible for driving the development and optimization of repair solutions for aeroderivative gas turbine platforms. This leadership role involves overseeing repair engineering activities, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and building a robust repair engineering team while utilizing advanced technological and manufacturing resources.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and drive the scope, scheduling, coordination, and execution of all aeroderivative gas turbine repair engineering activities, focusing on Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost (SQDC).
  • Lead and develop the aeroderivative component repair engineering team, creating engineering processes and coordinating the industrialization of repairs.
  • Align Aero Repair Team efforts to meet emerging business needs and long-term strategies.
  • Support proposal efforts for new repair opportunities to contribute to business growth.
  • Collaborate with Advanced Manufacturing & Repair Technologies teams to advance new technologies for engine maintenance, inspections, and repairs.
  • Provide expert technical consultation on repair issues across the Aero Services Business, including supplier and fleet support.
  • Lead repair development Design Reviews (DRs) and track respective DR actions and milestones progress.
  • Identify and assess potential risks, developing strategies to mitigate them effectively.
  • Contribute to strategic and policy development within the repair area.
  • Shape technical repair solutions that align with immediate business needs and long-term strategic goals.
  • Ensure proper execution of overall repair programs, managing costs, deliverables, and KPIs.
  • Present progress during monthly operating reviews.
  • Mentor and serve as a technical resource for junior team members.
  • Lead and manage projects involving moderate risk and resource demands.
  • Communicate technical findings and recommendations effectively to stakeholders.
  • Prepare invention disclosures to protect technological advancements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related discipline or equivalent knowledge and experience.
  • Significant experience in Engineering, Operations, or a related field.
  • Strong working knowledge of gas turbine repair methods.
  • Proven experience as a leader of a global technical team.

Nice-to-haves

  • Demonstrated ability to lead and develop a global, multi-disciplinary engineering team.
  • Technical expertise in aeroderivative gas turbines and respective repair methods.
  • Experience with materials used in aero-derivative gas turbine components, including nickel-based super alloys, high strength stainless steels, titanium, cobalt-based materials, and coatings.
  • Strong decision-making skills, with the ability to manage complex technical and operational challenges.
  • Proven ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, including engineering, operations, commercial, and sales.
