About the position

Lockheed Martin Aeronautics is seeking a part-time Master's/PhD Aeronautical Engineer Intern for the Computational Fluid Dynamics team. This role involves researching, analyzing, and developing aerodynamics solutions, performing wind tunnel testing, and supporting integration and flight test activities. The intern will contribute to troubleshooting and ensuring program objectives are met through technical expertise.

Responsibilities

  • Research and define aerodynamics concepts and solutions.
  • Analyze and develop designs for aerodynamics applications.
  • Perform wind tunnel testing and data reduction.
  • Support integration and flight test activities.
  • Troubleshoot and provide subject matter expertise for system maintenance.

Requirements

  • Pursuing a Master's or PhD degree in Aeronautical Engineering from an accredited college.
  • Understanding of aerodynamics, compressible flow, and boundary layers through coursework or research.
  • Experience with MATLAB and CATIA.

Nice-to-haves

  • Curiosity to explore new concepts and designs.
  • Coursework in turbulence is a plus.
  • Experience with CAD tools is a plus.
