About the position

The position of Propulsion Engineer at Lockheed Martin involves supporting flight tests and developing innovative solutions to complex technical problems. The selected candidate will work under guidance initially, with the goal of becoming an independent subject matter expert. Responsibilities include planning and executing flight test missions, ensuring aircraft readiness, and evaluating flight activity results.

Responsibilities

• Develop and publish test plans and flight test cards.
• Determine and communicate aircraft test requirements and configuration to responsible engineering, maintenance, instrumentation, and flight operations personnel.
• Comply with published test safety plans and standard operating procedures.
• Conduct test missions and perform test mission briefings and debriefings, meeting qualification requirements.
• Evaluate results from flight activities and incorporate 'lessons learned' into future test activities.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or master's degree from an accredited college or university in engineering, science, or technology discipline.
• Experience in working with technical teams.
• Developmental Flight Test Experience.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience interacting with customers in a formal capacity or as subject matter expert.
• Experience with engineering documentation, configuration control and change boards.
• Works effectively with minimal guidance.
• Experience in Flight Test planning or scheduling type of capacity.
