The Aerospace Business Development Manager will play a crucial role in driving new business opportunities and managing key customer accounts within the aerospace sector. Under the guidance of the Business Unit Manager, this position requires collaboration with design engineering, plant operations, and outside sales representatives to ensure effective specification review, cost estimating, proposal development, project management, and field service support. The individual will serve as the primary point of contact for requests for quotation, production schedule updates, expedites, and contractual negotiations. This role demands a proactive approach to developing and maintaining key contacts within customer organizations while gaining a comprehensive understanding of the company's markets, products, and policies. In this position, the manager will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities for target programs and customers. This includes developing and managing relationships with key customer contacts in engineering, sales, and procurement. The role involves conducting customer visits, preparing and delivering both general and opportunity-specific presentations, and representing the company at trade shows, operator conferences, and industry events. The manager will take ownership of new business initiatives, guiding them through the company's OEM and Customer Support Product Realization Processes until awarded. This includes writing business cases and commercial proposals, leading capture teams, and conducting gate reviews. Additionally, the Aerospace Business Development Manager will manage customer accounts by overseeing the entire customer fulfillment cycle from RFQ/order receipt through delivery and payment. This includes managing major OEM customer accounts, negotiating lead times, delivery schedules, and pricing within authorized limits, and facilitating collaboration across departments to resolve any issues that may cause delivery delays. The manager will also prepare customer quotations based on market pricing and company standards, provide market research and forecasting support, and contribute to the development of the company's Sales and Marketing Plan. Other projects and duties may be assigned as needed.
