About the position
The CNC Engineering Estimator will play a crucial role in evaluating incoming products and determining manufacturing feasibility within a premier aerospace CNC manufacturing solutions provider. This position involves preparing detailed manufacturing processes, bill of materials, and pricing estimates for customers, while ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Develop detailed process routings using an automated manufacturing software system.
- Develop complex Bill of Material structures using an automated manufacturing software system.
- Estimate manufacturing cycle times.
- Prepare cost estimates for customers.
- Conceptualize and create designs for fixtures and cutting tools.
- Confer with vendors to determine product specifications and arrange for the purchase of parts or services.
- Work on cross functional teams for process improvement and cost reduction.
- Project management.
- Perform additional related duties as assigned.
- Comply with applicable environmental, health and safety laws and regulations.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years CNC cost estimating experience.
- Minimum 5 years MasterCam programming experience.
- Minimum 5 years experience in a precision machine shop environment.
- Minimum 10 years of machining experience.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering preferred.
- Strong knowledge of CNC machining with horizontal mills, 3, 4, and 5-axis mills, lathes, and mill-turn work centers.
- ERP software experience.
- Efficient in reading prints, GD&T, and working with solid models.
- Prior experience as a CNC machine operator in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills.

- Experience with programming and set up for lights out manufacturing and job shop manufacturing.
