About the position

The AeroDef Industry Manager at MathWorks is responsible for driving the market growth of Technical Computing and Model-Based Design products within the Aerospace & Defense sectors. This role involves developing and executing strategic plans to enhance the adoption of MATLAB and Simulink products, collaborating with various teams to shape industry strategies, and influencing product development based on industry trends.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direction and guidance to American sales and services personnel for the AeroDef industry.
  • Understand customer needs through visits and develop appropriate messaging.
  • Support key sales opportunities and drive product adoption with sales teams and key customers.
  • Strategize with account managers to increase account penetration and establish best practices for sales.
  • Raise awareness of MathWorks within the AeroDef industry across the Americas.
  • Develop marketing programs and supporting materials to promote products effectively in the Americas.
  • Produce articles, technical papers, and user stories relevant to the AeroDef industry.
  • Deliver presentations at conferences and industry events as the AeroDef spokesperson for the Americas.
  • Develop a business strategy and execute the AeroDef industry business plan, reviewing progress with an internal advisory board.
  • Collaborate with engineering staff to capture customer needs and inform product feature development.
  • Analyze AeroDef business performance, identify new market opportunities, and create growth plans.
  • Identify and collaborate with critical partners to provide comprehensive solutions for customer needs.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree and 6 years of professional work experience, or a master's degree and 3 years of professional work experience, or a PhD degree, or equivalent experience.
  • MS or higher degree in a relevant engineering discipline.
  • 7+ years of strong knowledge and experience in the Aerospace and Defense industry.
  • Experience with MathWorks products (MATLAB, Simulink, Stateflow) or other multi-domain simulation software.
  • Experience and motivation supporting sales and engaging with customers in a multi-national environment.

Nice-to-haves

  • MBA or Product marketing experience.
  • Prior employment with a leading corporation in aerospace or defense.
  • Experience with a global software company.
  • Experience in forecasting and economic analysis.
