About the position

The Supply Chain Program Manager for Space Systems will lead critical satellite programs, focusing on advancing technology and mission solutions in the aerospace and defense sector. This role involves collaboration with various internal teams and customers to optimize supply chain processes, manage risks, and ensure timely delivery of materials while maintaining high-quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Spearhead Space and Airborne Systems supply chain program management in partnership with Engineering, Program Management, and Operations.
  • Drive alignment with commodity strategies, optimize the supply base, and achieve the lowest total acquisition cost.
  • Identify pain points and drive improvements across processes using a hands-on, cross-functional approach.
  • Coordinate deliverables with program leaders, manage key program risks, and establish mitigation plans.
  • Oversee critical milestones, ensuring adequate material flow and inventory optimization through analysis of supplier capacity and capabilities.
  • Offer technical support for Design for Excellence (DFx) by reviewing engineering changes and assessing supply chain impacts.
  • Engage in process improvements to enhance product development and supply chain effectiveness.
  • Cultivate and manage supplier relationships to meet program and customer requirements.
  • Collaborate across a diverse team to ensure alignment on project goals.
  • Develop and monitor program-specific supply chain metrics, aligning with long-term business strategy.
  • Build strong, high-level relationships with customers, understanding mission needs and constraints.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree with 12+ years of experience, or a graduate degree with 10+ years, or 16+ years of relevant experience without a degree.
  • Expertise in Supply Chain Program Management, preferably in aerospace or defense.
  • In-depth knowledge in supply chain within the aerospace/defense industry.

Nice-to-haves

  • Secret clearance (preferred but not required).
  • Experience with contract types: FFP, FPIF, T&M, Labor Hour, and Cost Reimbursement.
  • Background as a Cost Account Manager for Subcontracts, with budget and forecasting skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong communication skills.
