About the position

The Aerospace Design & Project Engineer position at Eaton is part of a Direct Hire Program aimed at early talent. This role involves working in a dynamic environment focused on the design, development, and testing of electrical and electronic systems for military and commercial aircraft. Participants will gain hands-on experience while collaborating with experienced leaders and cross-functional teams to address real-world challenges in aerospace engineering.

Responsibilities

  • Provide engineering support for problem solving and collaborate with manufacturing and quality teams to address production issues.
  • Complete conceptual designs for less complex technical domains.
  • Support design work for various projects and perform design trade-offs and risk assessments.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and improve designs to prevent failures based on Mechanical Failure Analysis principles.
  • Plan and execute qualification testing for systems and analyze test data using automated techniques.
  • Provide technical support for production issues at Eaton factories and suppliers.
  • Participate in continuous improvement teams as a Product Engineering representative.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in aerospace, mechanical, or electrical engineering from an accredited institution, with a graduation date of 2025.
  • Minimum of one internship or co-op experience completed by the time of application.
  • Minimum overall cumulative GPA of 2.8.
  • Geographic flexibility to relocate within the United States.
  • U.S. person status as defined by ITAR regulations.

Nice-to-haves

  • Overall cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience within campus or community activities.
  • Two or more relevant internships or co-op experiences.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, particularly in explaining technical concepts.
  • Design engineering experience in the aerospace industry.
