About the position

Become a key player in our Aerospace Engineering division, where you'll lead the development of innovative electronics systems for commercial and military aircraft. This role offers a unique chance to drive advancements in aircraft lighting and passenger comfort systems, working on innovative technologies that set industry standards. You'll oversee all stages of product development from inception to maintenance, making a direct impact on the future of aerospace lighting technology. The Electrical Design Engineer is responsible for all areas of the product development cycle including research, design, development, validation, and maintenance of electronics products, equipment, and systems. This position requires a strong focus on innovation and reliability in aerospace applications, ensuring that all designs meet rigorous aerospace standards and customer requirements. You will also be responsible for inspecting and validating completed installations to ensure they meet stringent design specifications and industry standards for safety and performance. In this role, you will provide critical support to manufacturing, installation, and maintenance teams, ensuring seamless integration and operation of electronic systems. Your ability to manage projects effectively and drive results in a collaborative team setting will be essential for success in this position.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, test, maintain, and enhance advanced electronic products and systems with a focus on innovation and reliability in aerospace applications.
  • Develop and refine technical documentation and specifications of electronic products and systems, ensuring compliance with aerospace standards and customer requirements.
  • Oversee electronic design production efforts to ensure timely and cost-effective project completion, driving excellence in every stage of the product lifecycle.
  • Inspect and validate completed installations to ensure they meet stringent design specifications and industry standards for safety and performance.
  • Provide critical support to manufacturing, installation, and maintenance teams, ensuring seamless integration and operation of electronic systems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronics, or Computer Engineering from an accredited institution is required; a Master's degree or advanced certifications are highly desirable.
  • A minimum of 4-7 years in designing electronic circuits and systems, with a proven track record in aerospace or other regulated industries being a significant advantage.
  • Proficiency in using Electronics CAD design tools such as Altium, PADS or Cadence, with the ability to tackle complex design challenges.
  • Proven experience designing microcontroller-based projects from concept to finished product, showcasing your ability to design digital electronics.
  • Familiarity with communication protocols (e.g., UART, SPI, I2C, CAN) and other hardware interfaces.
  • Experience operating lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, signal generators, and multimeters.
  • Knowledge of National Instruments LabVIEW/LabWindows is a plus.
  • Experience writing firmware and digital electronics design is a plus.
  • Experience designing electronics for regulated industries such as medical or aerospace is a plus.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications, including but not limited to Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio is beneficial.
  • Goal-oriented with exceptional organizational skills, capable of thriving in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with the ability to effectively prioritize tasks on a consistent basis.
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills, with the ability to present complex data and insights to senior management and external stakeholders driving informed decision-making.
