About The Position

The Aerospace Engineer position at NASA's Johnson Space Center involves supporting various technical areas related to aerospace flight systems. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Physical Science, Mathematics, Life Science, or Computer Science from an accredited institution.
  • One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 level in project management for aerospace systems.
  • Experience leading a team on hardware or software development, testing, verification, or operations.
  • Ability to resolve and troubleshoot problems related to aerospace systems.
  • Experience conducting budget, cost, or risk trade analyses of systems or vehicle design.

  • Graduate degree in a relevant field.
  • Experience with NASA's aerospace technology and systems.

Responsibilities

  • Manage aerospace flight hardware or software system design, development, analysis, and test activities for flight systems, payloads, or vehicles.
  • Create the requirements definition for hardware and/or software development, considering integration and operational needs and constraints.
  • Manage and guide the development of system requirements, concepts, resource requirements, and schedules.
  • Prepare test processes, ground support equipment, test operations, and data analyses for the verification and certification of flight hardware and/or software.
  • Conduct operations and maintenance of flight systems, payloads, and/or vehicles, including cost analyses, performance evaluation, and problem resolution.
  • Provide expertise and leadership to technical teams to overcome complex technical, project, and organizational problems.
