About the position
The Aerospace Engineer (T-45) position at the Department of the Navy involves performing engineering reviews and system safety analyses of aerospace vehicles to ensure compliance with established requirements. The role requires resolving complex engineering problems related to flight safety and fleet management, as well as collaborating with other engineers to interpret structural design requirements.
Responsibilities
- Perform engineering review or system safety analysis of system hardware and material to ensure compliance with established requirements.
- Explain technical guidance or operational information to project engineers.
- Resolve complex engineering problems related to safety of flight and fleet management of aerospace vehicles.
- Interpret structural design requirements in collaboration with other engineers.
Requirements
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Must have a professional engineering degree from an accredited institution.
- Must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance.
Nice-to-haves
- Current registration as an Engineer Intern (EI), Engineer in Training (EIT), or licensure as a Professional Engineer (PE).
- Evidence of having successfully passed the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) examination.
