About the position

The Manufacturing Operations Manager at PBS Aerospace is responsible for leading the turbojet engine manufacturing facility, ensuring operational excellence, product quality, and production efficiency. This role requires strong leadership skills and a deep understanding of aerospace manufacturing processes, with a commitment to safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily manufacturing operations, ensuring engine production schedules are met while adhering to aerospace quality standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Identify and implement process improvements using lean manufacturing principles and best practices to enhance productivity and reduce waste.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a diverse team of manufacturing professionals, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and teamwork.
  • Ensure all manufactured products meet or exceed quality standards and certifications (e.g., AS9100) through effective quality control measures and continuous monitoring.
  • Develop and manage the manufacturing budget, optimize resource allocation, and monitor costs to achieve financial objectives.
  • Work closely with engineering, supply chain, and quality assurance teams to ensure seamless operations and resolve production-related issues.
  • Promote a culture of safety by ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations specific to aerospace manufacturing.
  • Prepare regular reports on manufacturing performance, key performance indicators (KPIs), and project status for senior management, providing insights and recommendations for improvements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in aerospace manufacturing operations management, with a proven track record of success in a leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of aerospace manufacturing processes and quality assurance.
  • Excellent leadership and team-building skills, with the ability to motivate and manage diverse teams effectively.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a data-driven approach to decision-making.

Nice-to-haves

  • Department of Defense experience a plus.
  • Knowledge of aerospace materials and their manufacturing processes.
