About The Position

The Aerospace Mission Equipment Engineer will provide onsite managerial and technical support for the Army Futures Command and the Mission Equipment Division in Huntsville, Alabama. This role involves supporting government engineers with expert advice and technical guidance for mission equipment engineering solutions, particularly for US Army rotary or unmanned aircraft systems. The engineer will also maintain knowledge of relevant scientific principles and integrate them into aerospace engineering projects, ensuring adherence to sound engineering practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science or greater in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical, Systems, or Materials Engineering fields.
  • 2 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's in a related field; 0 years of experience with a Master's.
  • Experienced in evaluating technical dispositions, policies, plans, procedures, and technical requirements.
  • Experience providing design and analysis support for avionics, flight controls, flight management, communication, and navigation systems.
  • Proficient in writing detailed technical substantiation analyses, reports, and briefings.
  • Knowledge and experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings, repair manuals, and technical reports.
  • Possess strong listening, written, and oral communication skills.
  • Competence in MS Office and related software/programs.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Greater than 5 years of relevant experience with DoD avionics, flight controls, flight management, communication, and navigation systems.
  • Greater than 5 years of providing Acquisitions, Development, Test & Review support for DoD aircraft.
  • Department of Defense Aviation Depot Maintenance repair or overhaul operations experience.
  • Active DoD Secret Security Clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Support government engineers with expert advice, analysis, research, and technical guidance for mission equipment engineering solutions for US Army rotary or unmanned aircraft systems.
  • Maintain knowledge of relevant scientific principles and application methods/procedures and integrate the same into aerospace engineering projects using sound engineering practices.
  • Maintain knowledge of relevant maintenance policies, procedures, technical manuals, and electronic resources related to aviation depot maintenance repair and overhaul operations.
