About the position

The Aerospace Operations Coordinator at PPG is responsible for implementing and tracking Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) initiatives, training, and LEAN processes within the Atlanta, GA area market. This role involves onboarding new employees, tracking contractor safety training, conducting audits, and assisting in the development of new processes to enhance operational efficiency and safety standards.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate quarterly Health and Wellness events and committee.
  • Conduct new hire EHS training.
  • Work with the ASC in implementing the Human and Organizational Performance program.
  • Enter incident reporting data into the database, liaise with corporate EHS, and lead investigations and root cause analysis.
  • Perform industrial hygiene testing and follow up on results and action plans.
  • Organize and run Safety Committee meetings.
  • Lead ergonomics efforts in ASC.
  • Coordinate physicals and conduct EHS training, audits/assessments for JSA, LOTO, PPE, and other safety requirements.
  • Monitor contractors and conduct contractor safety training as needed.
  • Assist in management of site EHS procedures and update on eManual system.
  • Administer the program to exceed site goals, near misses/hazard reports.
  • Create and update production department work instructions, SOP, and visual work aids.
  • Create new process documents for new production processes as needed.
  • Update site communication boards daily/weekly/monthly.
  • Assist with 5S documentation and audits.
  • Drive PAP Goals on the production floor (i.e., EHS Matrix, OTD, Productivity, Scrap).
  • Recognize and address issues, constraints, and drive to results with the functional team.
  • Accurate WIP Counts, Reduce Aging WIP, Cycle Counts as needed.
  • Assist Operations team with new employee onboarding and training.
  • Assist in maintaining all employee badges and issue to new employees.

Requirements

  • High School Graduate or equivalent education.
  • Customer service or operations experience preferred.
  • EHS experience preferred.
  • Ability to establish relationships with and influence a diverse group of personality types.
  • Proven computer skills, time management, and prioritization skills.
  • Strong oral and written presentation skills.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident.
