About the position

The Program Manager III at Crane Aerospace & Electronics is responsible for leading and managing cross-functional teams to ensure the successful development and delivery of aerospace products. This role encompasses overseeing the entire program lifecycle from customer proposal through production readiness, with a focus on customer satisfaction, adherence to schedules, and cost management. The position requires strong leadership, communication, and project management skills to navigate complex technical and business challenges in the aerospace and defense sectors.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and management of cross-functional teams for product development programs.
  • Review and evaluate technical and business aspects of customer proposals and change requests.
  • Create, monitor, and update detailed program plans to achieve customer milestones.
  • Lead and motivate Integrated Product Teams (IPT) to ensure product designs meet specifications and cost targets.
  • Establish and maintain positive working relationships with customers through effective communication.
  • Proactively manage project scope and ensure changes are documented and approved.
  • Monitor and control program costs during the design and development phases.
  • Develop and maintain a detailed resource-loaded program schedule.
  • Identify, track, and manage program issues and risks through standardized processes.
  • Facilitate the transition of products from engineering design to full-scale production.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in Program Management or related project management position.
  • Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Engineering or a technical discipline.
  • Expert knowledge of Program Management philosophies and processes.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Project and other PC-based office tools.
  • Excellent leadership, customer service orientation, and decision-making skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree in Business Administration or comparable advanced management degree.
  • Formal certification/training in Program and/or Systems Management (PMI or equivalent).
  • Experience in aerospace product development and certification processes.
