Aerospace Program Manager

About the position

The Program Manager will support multiple aeronautics programs, providing onsite support at various suppliers' facilities to mitigate supply chain risks and constraints. The position requires a thorough understanding of both Airframe and Major Systems manufacturing procedures and production processes. The desired candidate must exhibit excellent people skills as close interaction with suppliers, sub-tier suppliers, and other LM technical and administrative employees will be required. The candidate must be able to be mentored/trained by other LM technical employees on legacy program processes and design standards. Experience with SAP ERP system is desirable. The candidate must be able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing and must be proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English. Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools is also required. The PM is a member of the Supply Chain Management (SCM) team that minimizes disruptions to the supply chain by providing 'in the field' oversight of supplier execution. Daily activities will include working with supplier personnel to prioritize components through manufacturing, validating the status of deliverable parts, preparing plans to reduce/prevent shortages, identifying risks in the supply chain, and developing risk mitigation plans. The role also involves evaluating supplier production capabilities, conducting periodic constraint and risk evaluations, and facilitating the flow of materials and products to and from work cells and suppliers.

Responsibilities

• Provide onsite support at various suppliers' facilities to mitigate supply chain risks.
• Work with supplier personnel to prioritize components through manufacturing.
• Validate the status of deliverable parts and provide detailed status to company procurement.
• Prepare plans to reduce/prevent shortages and identify risks in the supply chain.
• Develop risk mitigation plans to minimize potential impacts to the company.
• Evaluate supplier production capabilities and conduct capacity evaluations.
• Identify restraints and bottlenecks with product flow and offer solutions.
• Facilitate the flow of materials, products, and finished goods to and from work cells.
• Ensure compliance of materials and finished goods with specifications and standards.

Requirements

• 5-7 years of hands-on experience as a Project Manager.
• Experience with Industrial Engineering and direct manufacturing.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Previous experience with electronic Material Requirements Planning systems such as SAP.
• Comprehensive understanding of overall manufacturing processes and procedures.
• Strong oral and written communication skills for presentations and executive briefings.
• Experience working closely with Quality Engineering, Manufacturing Engineers, and Purchasing.
• Excellent interpersonal relations and customer service skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to gather, interpret, analyze, and act on data with minimal supervision.
• High sense of urgency and ability to work in a fast-paced team environment.
• Demonstrated skills and experience purchasing in an electronics manufacturing environment.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen.
• Valid driver's license and auto insurance required.
