About the position

The Aerospace Program Manager at PBS Aerospace is responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and successful completion of major aerospace programs, particularly in the development and delivery of turbojet engines. This role involves managing cross-functional teams, ensuring adherence to project timelines and budgets, and serving as the main point of contact for stakeholders, including clients and government agencies. The position is critical in fostering partnerships and ensuring the technical and financial success of projects within a fast-paced and innovative environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development, execution, and delivery of turbojet engines, ensuring alignment with program goals and objectives.
  • Define program scope, risk, goals, and schedules in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders.
  • Develop detailed project schedules, budgets, and resource plans, ensuring adherence throughout the program lifecycle.
  • Work directly with customers to build long-term partnerships and ensure on-time delivery of engines.
  • Lead cross-functional teams, including engineering, production, quality assurance, and procurement.
  • Provide leadership, direction, and support to the team to meet project milestones and deliverables.
  • Manage program budgets, track expenditures, and ensure cost-efficiency.
  • Provide financial forecasts and analyze cost impacts on overall program profitability.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Project Management, or a related field; a Master's degree is a plus.
  • PMP certification or equivalent project management certification is preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in program/project management within the aerospace or defense industry.
  • Strong understanding of aerospace systems, manufacturing processes, and regulatory compliance.
  • Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of Earned Value Management (EVM) principles.
  • Experience with government contracting (e.g., DoD, NASA) and knowledge of FAR/DFAR regulations.
  • Top Secret Clearance is a plus.
