About the position
The Aerospace Quality Manager at DRT Aerospace is responsible for leading the Quality Assurance initiatives, ensuring compliance with AS9100 certifications and audits, and managing the quality assurance and inspection departments. This role focuses on maintaining high-quality standards required by customers while ensuring efficient throughput to meet customer schedules. The position also involves providing technical guidance on inspection plans and quality leadership across the plant to achieve customer satisfaction and business objectives.
Responsibilities
- Lead the maintenance and compliance of the AS9100 Accredited Quality Management System and associated performance metrics.
- Manage the quality assurance and inspection departments, focusing on maintaining quality standards and throughput necessary for customer schedules.
- Provide guidance on inspection plans by part by metrology-mode.
- Establish plant-specific CMM standards and guidelines.
- Provide quality leadership to all functions within the plant to achieve customer satisfaction and overall business objectives.
- Provide technical guidance and leadership for GD&T and SPC implementation and interpretation.
- Monitor performance and determine necessary training for the inspection team and all manufacturing employees.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience including management or supervision experience.
- 5 years as a quality inspector and 1+ year of supervisor/manager experience.
- Working knowledge of GD&T concepts and experience with SPC/Six Sigma tools (Greenbelt/Blackbelt preferred).
- Excellent organizational and leadership abilities and a wide degree of creativity.
- Experience maintaining AS9100/ISO9001 quality standards.
- Working knowledge of inspection methods and/or aerospace manufacturing.
- CMM experience preferred (PC-DMIS preferred).
