The AES Field Service Engineer will be responsible for a variety of critical tasks related to electrical power distribution, control, and switchgear. This role involves performing startups, emergency repairs, modifications, testing, retrofits, modernizations, upgrades, and warranty services. The ideal candidate will join the Advanced Electrical Services Team at Foley Power Solutions, where they will utilize their expertise to ensure the reliability and efficiency of electrical systems. The position requires a deep understanding of electrical safety and procedures, as well as compliance with industry standards such as NFPA70E, NEC, and OSHA. In this role, the engineer will be expected to communicate effectively with customers, peers, and leadership, articulating technical information related to ongoing projects. Responsibilities include troubleshooting Automatic Transfer Switches (ATSs), switchgear, Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), protective relays, circuit breakers, isochronous governing systems, and generator control systems. The engineer will also conduct inspections, testing, and repairs on control systems and switchboards, perform startups and commissioning of switchgear, and integrate Building Management Systems (BMS) and SCADA systems using standard protocols like BACnet and Modbus. Travel is a requirement for this position, as the engineer may need to assist at various locations or attend training sessions.
