The Workplace Technology Hardware Asset Management Engineer will play a crucial role in managing and maintaining the company's hardware assets. This position involves overseeing the entire lifecycle of all Workplace Technology hardware assets, from procurement to disposal. The engineer will ensure that all hardware assets are efficiently utilized, accurately accounted for, and properly documented throughout their lifecycle. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing internal audits and maintaining precise records of all IT assets, which is essential for effective asset management and compliance with company policies. In this role, the engineer will oversee the company's hardware asset management program, ensuring that all IT equipment, including laptops, desktops, and other devices, are accurately tracked and maintained. The engineer will develop and maintain processes to track and report on asset usage and performance, providing valuable insights to management to inform decision-making. Additionally, the engineer will provide guidance and support to other teams on asset management best practices, policies, and procedures. The engineer will also assess and maintain hardware standards for laptops, desktops, and computer peripherals, testing new models for compatibility within the company's environment. Furthermore, the engineer will manage the disposal and recycling of IT assets in accordance with environmental regulations and company policies, ensuring proper asset retirement, data wiping, and equipment recycling processes. The role includes submitting hardware warranty cases to OEM manufacturers for repair and tracking trends in hardware warranty requests. Collaboration with IT security teams is essential to ensure that asset management practices align with cybersecurity protocols and data protection regulations.
