About the position

The Community Director (Non-Exempt) is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of a small multifamily property, ensuring it meets the operational and financial goals set by the client. This role involves managing a team of up to 5 full-time employees, enhancing property value, maintaining occupancy levels, and ensuring compliance with various housing regulations. The position requires strong leadership, communication, and customer service skills to effectively manage resident relations and staff performance.

Responsibilities

• Carry out the philosophies and wishes of the Owner in daily operations.
• Maintain positive communication with applicants, residents, vendors, clients, and guests.
• Develop and manage site team members, including hiring, training, and evaluation.
• Maintain occupancy levels as established by owner/budget expectations.
• Manage revenue potential through lease expirations and timely turnover.
• Maintain appropriate resident files and ensure confidentiality.
• Ensure compliance with Risk Management items and report any incidents.
• Assist residents with maintenance needs and monitor facility conditions.
• Enforce community rules and regulations and comply with Fair Housing Laws.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years' experience with affordable housing programs (LIHTC, HUD, USDA-Rural Development).
• Minimum 1 year of experience in a leadership role within Residential Property Management.
• High School diploma or equivalency certificate required.
• Proficient in English (speaking, reading, writing).
• Strong computer skills (MS Office, property management software).

Nice-to-haves

• College degree in a relatable field preferred but not required.
• Affordable Housing Accreditation (e.g., HCCP, HCP-E, COS, BOS, TCS, CPO) or other applicable designations.
