About the position

The Community Director (Non-Exempt) is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of a small multifamily property, ensuring it meets the operational and financial goals set by the client. This role involves managing a team of up to 5 full-time employees, enhancing property value, maintaining occupancy levels, and ensuring compliance with various housing programs. The position requires strong leadership, communication, and management skills to effectively supervise staff and maintain positive relations with residents and clients.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out the philosophies and wishes of the Owner in daily operations.
  • Maintain positive communication with applicants, residents, vendors, clients, and guests.
  • Develop and manage site team members, including hiring, training, and evaluation.
  • Maintain occupancy levels as established by owner/budget expectations.
  • Manage the maximum revenue potential of the property through lease expirations and timely turnover.
  • Maintain appropriate resident files and ensure confidentiality.
  • Ensure compliance with Risk Management items and report any incidents timely.
  • Assist residents with maintenance needs and monitor physical asset condition.
  • Enforce community rules and regulations and comply with Fair Housing Laws.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years' experience with affordable housing programs (LIHTC, HUD, USDA-Rural Development, etc.).
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a similar leadership role in Residential Property Management.
  • High School diploma or equivalency certificate required.
  • Proficient in English (speaking, reading, writing).
  • Strong computer skills (MS Office, Google Apps, property management software).

Nice-to-haves

  • College degree in a relatable field preferred but not required.
  • Experience with Yardi and other property management software.
